Free Six-Week “Sanity Circus” Parenting Workshop Offered in Seattle

Due to a grant from the Horizons Foundation, the Puget Sound Adlerian Society and the Graham Hill Elementary School PTA will offer a six-week free "Sanity Circus" parenting course at Graham Hill Elementary School, located at 5149 S. Graham St. in Seattle. The workshops will run on Mondays, May 2 through June 13, from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

This course is for parents, caregivers and teachers (clock hours are available) who seek cooperative, respectful and joyful relationships with children and youth. The Puget Sound Adlerian Society is a nonprofit educational organization based on the Adlerian Psychology, a belief that healthy families, classrooms and workplaces rest on a cornerstone of mutual respect. The workshops show how to strengthen family relationships rather than rely on behavior management (reward and punishment).

Topics for the sessions include: Choosing your parenting style, understanding behavior, encouragement, communication, getting out of power struggles, discipline does not equal punishment, and family meetings. For more information, and to register, call 206-252-7168 or visit www.psasadler.org. Limited free childcare is available.
