The Seattle Council PTSA is hosting a forum with Seattle School Board candidates on Wednesday, July 21, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The Zoom session will feature candidates from Districts 4, 5 and 7. Community members can submit questions for the candidates ahead of the session by emailing president@scptsa.org.
The Seattle Public Schools School Board candidates expected to attend and discuss their platforms are Erin Dury, Laura Marie Rivera, Vivian Song Maritz and Herb Camet Jr., all competing for the seat in District 4; and Dan Harder, Michelle Sarju and Crystal Liston, who are competing for the spot in District 5. Incumbent school board director Brandon Hersey, who is running unopposed for District 7, is also expected to take part in the online forum. Dury is an incumbent who was appointed to the spot by the current School Board in March 2020 to fill a vacancy left when Eden Mack resigned from the board.
