The new Jan Brett book
In the new book, which comes out Nov. 26, Brett puts a new spin on a beloved tale. The characters from āAlice in Wonderlandā are reimagined as animals native to Alaska.
The Cheshire Cat, Duchess, King and Queen will still have their absurd personalities, wild antics and silliness, but theyāll be in the Alaskan tundra.
To celebrate, Brett is hopping a bus with a 23-city itinerary. Here are the local stops:
- 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, Silas High School auditorium, Tacoma; sponsored by Tacoma Public Library, Tacoma Online Elementary and Kingās Books. Admission is free, but registration is required. Plus, the first 100 families in line will receive a poster signed by Brett. She will give a short book talk and drawing demonstration then will sign books for people. Also, the popular character Hedgie will be available for photos.
- 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, Bellingham High School; sponsored by Village Books. Tickets are $5 and space is limited.
