New playground alert! This one is perfect for little cyclists-in-training, so grab the trike, the Strider, or the big-kid Schwinn and head to West Seattle to check out the High Point Play Area. Grand-opening festivities were held March 24, but if you missed it, go and play anyway!
The main attraction is, of course, the newly renovated play area. It's four times the size of the old one, so there’ll be plenty of room for kids to swing, slide, climb, roll, run and play. Kids may not notice, but there's a great view of downtown Seattle from atop the climbing structure.
Still in the works: a decorative pavement park connection on 34th Avenue. In a few more years, it will help connect High Point Play Area to adjacent neighborhood parks and to Camp Long, creating a kid-friendly bike route all along the new West Seattle Greenway.
