Draft attendance area boundary changes for elementary and middle schools (growth boundaries) will be discussed at upcoming community meetings. These meetings are part of the ongoing community engagement on the proposed boundaries, which will be used to finalize the proposed boundaries before board action.
The introduction of the final proposal will be at the Oct. 16 school board meeting with board action on Nov. 20. New boundaries will be phased in beginning with the 2014-15 school year.
All meetings run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The remaining meetings are as follows:
- Wed., Sept. 25: West Seattle High School Commons, 3000 California Ave. S.W. (Spanish, Somali, and Vietnamese interpreters)
- Mon., Sept. 30: Meany Building Lunchroom, 300 20th Ave. E. (Spanish, Somali and Vietnamese interpreters)
- Tues., Oct. 1: Ballard High School Commons, 1418 N.W. 65th St. (Spanish interpreter)
If you are unable to attend the meetings, you are invited to "Walk the Boundaries" and provide feedback. This provides a "feet-on-the-ground" review of the draft boundaries.
As well, community members are invited to share thoughts, comments and concerns by emailing comments to [email protected] (please put your school or topic in the subject line).
