Seattle’s Child is proud to partner with the state Department of Children, Youth and Families Strengthening Families Washington to honor outstanding caregivers doing important work on behalf of children. Throughout February, we’ll introduce you to Unsung Heroes from around the state: biological parents, grandparents, foster and adoptive parents. Some volunteer at local schools; some have started nonprofits; some mentor others in their communities. Enjoy the stories of 2025’s unsung heroes.
Daniel Amster, Lacey
Daniel is the epitome of a good dad; he is highly involved and attuned to our kiddos, and works hard every day to give them a loving, emotionally safe home.
Watching Daniel parent is an absolute joy and adventure as he is often on the ground playing pony, taking the children on bike rides or hikes, or finding a way to juggle preschool pickup every day.
His empathy and patience are unmatched, and we are so lucky to have him.
