Vegetarians of Washington encourages people to discover the advantages and pleasures of vegetarian food. It organizes Vegfest, the largest vegetarian food festival in the country, held at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall in March each year. It's an event for the whole family where 700 different kinds of food can be sampled, doctors give talks on nutrition, chefs give cooking demonstrations, and clowns and kids activities entertain the kids. Admission is $8, kids ages 12 and under are free.
In addition, Vegetarians of Washington hosts monthly dinners on the third Wednesday of the month at the Mount Baker Club. Everyone is welcome to enjoy a delicious gourmet dinner catered by a different restaurant or chef each time. Free classes are also available to all. Details and schedules are on the website.
