There is good news and bad news.
The good: Work is starting on a new play area at E.C. Hughes Playground in West Seattle.
The bad: Because of that, the nearby wading pool will be closed for the rest of the summer. (The last day is Friday, Aug. 2.)
The closest place for kids to get wet is the Highland Park spray park at 1100 S.W. Cloverdale St.
Here are the complete lists of wading pools and spray parks.
The E.C. Hughes project will update aging equipment with play structures accessible to children of all abilities. The new play area is anticipated to open in early 2020. More details on the project, plus renderings of the future play equipment, can be found here.
