If you and your kiddos are looking for a crafty autumn project perfect for little hands, grab a few acorn caps from the neighborhood (leave the nuts outside for the squirrels) and give this festive project a try. Using a bit of colored, oven-hardening modeling clay, form small balls that fit inside of the caps. Set the caps aside, and bake the clay according to package instructions. Use a hot glue gun to fasten the caps onto the baked balls. Your completed acorns can decorate a Thanksgiving table or be given as gifts to teachers and friends.
