Wonderland’s Early Support Program helps kids meet developmental milestones

Read Jasmine's journey through the program

When should my child start crawling? Why isn’t my child speaking? If you find yourself asking these questions, you and your child may benefit from an Early Support Program through Wonderland Child & Family Services. Early Support for Infants and Toddlers offers personalized services such as evaluation, therapy, and resource support for children aged birth through three with developmental delays and/or disabilities. Wonderland also offers developmental milestone tracking to ensure your child’s development stays on track.

Child development: Jasmine’s story

Wonderland’s physical, occupational, and speech therapists, special educators, infant mental health specialists, and family resources coordinators work together to support your child and family during these crucial years. Chelsea* was referred to Wonderland Child & Family Services for speech therapy through her daughter Jasmine’s* primary care physician. “Wonderland’s services were highly recommended, and I am incredibly grateful for the positive impact they had on my daughter,” says Chelsea.

Jasmine faced challenges pronouncing words, making communication frustrating for her and challenging for Chelsea to understand. Throughout her time at Wonderland, Jasmine’s progress was notable. “Wonderland made a significant difference. Our provider’s expertise and unique approach quickly gained Jasmine’s trust, a feat that was not easy due to her shyness with new people.” Jasmine’s provider set clear goals for their family to work toward each week, and the consistent check-ins and unwavering support from Wonderland made the entire process not just beneficial but enjoyable for Jasmine and her family. “What makes Wonderland stand out is the providers’ knowledge and the engaging methods they used to encourage Jasmine’s language and pronunciation.”

Providing a comfortable environment for success

All Early Support providers are trauma-informed, and services are provided in the child’s natural learning environments, such as in-home or at childcare. “The at-home sessions made it easy for Jasmine to make progress, and she eagerly anticipated her time with her provider each week,” shares Chelsea. Virtual and in-person sessions are both available for the family’s convenience. In addition to direct services, every family is assigned a Family Resources Coordinator to help families navigate and understand the resources available to them.

Wonderland helped Chelsea and Jasmine seamlessly transition services to the school district before she turned three and ages out of services. “The transparency in each step and the overall support we felt as a family were remarkable. I can confidently recommend Wonderland to any parent seeking support for their child’s speech development.” Chelsea shares some words of encouragement for parents who may be hesitant to start services, “I was initially hesitant, unsure if my 2.5-year-old daughter needed the support. However, I’m grateful that we took that step. Wonderland’s services were instrumental in Jasmine’s progress, and I wholeheartedly recommend them to parents seeking support for their children’s development.”
