What’s happening on Healthy Kids Day?

Free activities, challenges and safety information on April 26

Ever wonder what happens behind those doors at your local YMCA? Find out on Saturday, April 26 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during Healthy Kids Day — the organization’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids and families. The annual program has hosted free community events at YMCAs across the nation for more than 30 years.

Organizer’s of this year’ region-wide even promise fun, prizes and giveaways (including tees and life jackets) the whole family can enjoy. Participants can also enter to win a free week of summer adventure at Camp Orkila, Camp Colman, or BOLD & GOLD, and a free week of summer fun at day camp.

Twelve branches of the YMCA of Greater Seattle will open their doors to the public. Activities vary depending on location, but most locations will have healthy snack demonstrations, information about water safety, prizes, summer camp crafts, sports challenges, bounce houses, and more. Here’s what’s happening on Healthy Kids Day at the 12 participating YMCA facilities.
