Seattle Symphony Offers Free Youth Tickets and Expands Outreach

Seattle Symphony will introduce two innovative, free-ticket programs for the 2011-2012 season that will help engage and nurture new audiences. These outreach programs are named "Family Connections" and "Community Connections."

Family Connections offers free companion tickets for up to two children between the ages of 8 and 18, when accompanied by a paying adult, to attend any of the Seattle Symphony’s 53 Masterworks concerts at Benaroya Hall. Companion tickets will become available three weeks prior to each Masterworks concert, and are only available by phone at 206-215-4747 or in person through the Seattle Symphony Ticket Office in Benaroya Hall.

Community Connections will provide free tickets to four pre-selected partner organizations: Washington New Americans; Post-Prison Education Program; Joint Base Lewis-McChord Family Morale, Welfare & Recreation; and Senior Housing Authority Group.

"As a parent myself, I know how inspiring it is for families to share music together," said Seattle Symphony Music Director Ludovic Morlot. "I’m thrilled that our new program will allow children to attend Masterworks concerts for free. And, we are also able to provide an opportunity for many people to experience the joy of symphonic music for the first time, even if it had previously been outside their reach."
