Brian McClay

Brian is an amazing husband, father, brother, son and friend.

I’ve known Brian for about five years or so after moving from Stockton, California. While in California, Brian worked tirelessly in construction while going to night school to gain his master’s in education. He and his amazing wife, Jamie, technically both deserve this award as they have adopted three children and have been the key to the positive changes in each of these children’s lives.

While Brian’s personal life checks my box for being an unsung hero, his work life involves the betterment of other youths’ life as well. As a Program Specialist III for Northwest Educational Service District 189, Brian travels many miles across Washington state to talk with troubled youth and prepare them for their own success in life. Personally, as a young man who came from a troubled background, it is great to see someone showing our future the importance of financial competence and the steps to achieving success.

Brian never looks at the challenging environment of the students in his program, but he always shows them opportunities that initially seemed like misnomers only to be the kindle for the passion to change their own environment. The commitment to others success is his own crowning achievement but I wholeheartedly believe he should be acknowledged as an unsung hero. Good Job, Brian.
